One install, both tools. The desktop app and the command line share a login and a config, so you are not picking between them — on Linux and macOS the app is included when the machine has a desktop and left out when it does not, and on Windows the installer carries both.
Every Share2Us client is free software under the GPLv3 — read the source, build your own, or fork it.
The installer includes the desktop app and the command line. That button always gives you the newest build. Every platform's build is on the releases page if you would rather unpack one yourself; the macOS build is unsigned, so right-click and Open it the first time.
No desktop app, no admin rights. Run this in PowerShell; it installs s2u for your user and adds it to your PATH.
Installs the command line, and the desktop app too when this machine has a desktop. On a server you get the command line only. Add SHARE2US_SKIP_GUI=1 to leave the app out.

System-wide, and it upgrades with apt upgrade. Add the signed repository once, then install s2u. amd64 and arm64.
Which one? The quick install above needs no root and lives in your home directory: right for a personal machine or WSL, and the only one that brings the desktop app. apt is command line only, and is right for servers and machines you already keep current with apt. Use one or the other on a machine.
